Where is the Michigan Monster Dash?

All events will begin and end at Maple Beach on the northwest side of Kensington Metro Park in Milford, Michigan. See below for a map.

Where and when is packet pickup?

Early Packet Pickup will be at Dick’s Sporting Good in Novi on 12 Mile Road from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, October 28th.

Dicks will provide all runners a 20% coupon good that day for all merchandise in the store.

Morning-Of packet pickup will also be available. However to avoid being rushed and standing in long lines, we suggest you come to Dick’s on Friday!

Can I pick up packets for my friends?

Yes. 

Will there be same-day reigtration?

Yes! 

It will be SELF-REGISTRATION.  You can go to www.michiganmonsterdash/signup or scan the QR code that will be on-site and use your own device to register.  You can do this right from your car after you park but BEFORE you come to the check in tent.  Once you are registered, simply walk to the check in tent and give your name and we will give you your bib and packet (see info about the t-shirt below) and you will be ready to go.

However, in addition to the slightly increased cost to register late, we can’t guarantee a shirt or medal for registrations done after October 15.  A limited number of extra shirts have been ordered and they will be given out on a first-come-first-served basis.  Once the extra shirts are gone, anyone not receiving one will have it mailed to them when we receive our final shirt order, which should arrive on affected participant doorsteps in early November.

What are the start times?

The event start times will be staggered:

  • Half Marathon: 9:00 am
  • 10k: 9:15 am
  • 5k: 9:30 am
  • 1k Kids Dash: 11:00 am

If I arrive late, can I still run?

We understand that life is busy! Making it to the starting line on time isn’t always possible. That being said, Michigan Monster Dash participants are not the only people who enjoy Kensington Metropark in the autumn. While the park does allow us to close some roads and put up cones to keep our participants safe and on course, they also ask us to open roads back up and move our cones as soon as possible. This is done on a rolling basis based on the slowest participant for each event. To assure that we can open the roads as soon as possible, the latest a late-arriving participant will be allowed to start any event is 30 minutes after the scheduled start time.

How long will I have to finish each event?

The finish line for all events will close at 1pm, which leaves PLENTY of time for all runners, joggers, and walkers!

Will all finishers receive a shirt and medal?

Yes! 

Our 2022 shirts are high-quality, short sleeve, unisex tech shirts.
The 2022 medal is our best design yet!  Bright Orange and purples make it “must have.”

We think it will be the crown jewel of your medal collection!

What does it cost to enter the park?

If you do not already have an annual pass, the one-day rate to enter the park is $10.00 per vehicle. 

Will the events be chipped timed?

The Half Marathon, 10k and 5k will be chipped timed. 

While the Kids 1k is not chipped timed, all participants will still receive a numbered bib and a finishers medal.

Are dogs allowed on the course?

Yes… but… They must be on a short leash, and you MUST pick up after them! We also reserve the right to ask you to exit the course if your dog causes concerns or stress for participants, volunteers, or park visitors.

Are strollers allowed on the course?

Yes! We welcome runners and walkers who would like to push kids in a stroller. No extra registration is required for kids in strollers, unless you want a shirt and a medal for them too. All we ask is that if you think you will be slower than most runners that you line up at the back of the starting gate so faster runners won’t need to navigate around you.

Will there be yummy food at the finish line?

Oh yes!

Our finish-line snacks in 2021 were a huge hit! And we plan to do even better this year. We are grateful to our sponsors who donated the food.

Where should we park?

Parking will be at the Maple Beach parking lot. From there it is a short walk up to the staring line on the play field.

If I need to cancel, can I receive a refund?

We wish that were possible. As soon as you register, there are costs associated with your registration that we can’t get back, including (but not limited to) your shirt and medal. However, if this comes up, please reach out to us. While a refund isn’t possible, we’ll still work together to find other options.
